ITEM 7539. PRIOR-HAMBLIN SCHOOL
OIL ON ACADEMY BOARD PORTRAIT of a serene young Quaker woman.
New England, C. 1840. No restoration, retaining the "best"
dry surface with a few tiny paint flakes. Frame is an appropriate
match that was likely paired with the portrait in the mid-Twentieth
century. A particularly appealing and sympathetic rendering by
a confident hand. Sight size of 9 9/16"W x 13 3/8"H.
